I think that the problem that you guys are having is that a single battery system can only produce just over 900 watts. You only need .5 of a Fared cap per 1000 watts. If you run a multiple battery system you will find that if you are running a 1000+ watt stereo that it will make a difference. Rember that no matter how good your charging system is, or how many caps that you have or what guage your wire is, that a single battery can only hold so much juice. When your base hits even if your single battery is FULL is is almost drained to about 10-12 volts when the base hits. As soon as your battery gets under about 12 volts weird things start to happen.

So the answer to all of your questions or complaints is multiple battery's.

Alright! So, I bit the bullet HARD today! I went out and took the time to redo by power wire and wiring for the amps!

In total it cost me $361 for 20ft. of 0ga. a dist. block, 4 ring terminals, inline fuse holder and fuse, and a battery terminal!

That is just REDICULOUS!

I only had enough time tonight to put the 0ga. wire in and get her put through the firewall. I was too cold and the snow was coming down hard! Its unbelievable at how much is coming down!

Anyways, lets hope this new power wire solves my problems! I tried charging my cap and when I put the diode on to the + to + on battery, the light does'nt light up!

Bad cap?

Sounds like it. Dont shop where you bought that wire again. That was a RETARDED price. I got 18 feet for $60, with 6 terminals and 1 dist. block, and 1 anl fuse holder.

:\ Well, you could have offered! Lol..

Okay so, I guess the cap had to be grounded as well when you charge it, lol. It works now and all so its all good.

I still need to go get some more friggin' parts now though.

Need 2 dist. blocks with 0ga. in and 4ga. out.

4ring terminals that I can use to hook my wires up to my cap and a ground block. Stinger has these plated terminals that I've used before, hope they work.

That should cost me another $100 freakin' bux...

Idk if you've looked on ebay but you can get real good prices on that stuff.

I guess if I were to add my .02 I would have say caps CAN be beneficial depending on the setup. BUT, multiple high discharge batteries will always be better than a cap (even the 24 farad caps) simply because on an extended bass note the cap does not have time to recharge.

PS - Kinetik batteries ROCK!!!! Installed one in my friends Expedition with 2 AZ pumps, a JL 1000 & a JL 500 all running a nearly full power on 1 lg kinetic batt and still could not drop below 11.8v with the engine OFF!

I could do Ebay and should have, but I'm in a bit of hurry to actually get it in less than a week than paying more for shipping on it.

I think that when I finish my air bag suspension and I run into problems, I will be adding another optima yellowtop. I just cant believe that 2000 watts takes 0ga.!
