Ill get some pictures on here when i have the dash out cuz im sure im gonna have a million questions on how to get the carpet out to lolz

If you are going to replace the carpet, don't worry about tearing, and get to tugging. Remove the plastic pieces like the door stills and kick panels first.

yeah... there will be a few plastic "pushpins" that hold the carpet in place... remove the kick panels, doorsills, seats and the radio trim (the piece held in my 4 screws below the ashtray) and you might wanna remove the metal bracket (if you are going to reuse the carpet) otherwise tear it up. actually i would advise against tearing the carpet up as you can use it as a template for the new carpet if you are cutting the new carpet to fit.... hows that dash removal going btw?

and also, when you put the dash back, 2-4 bolts is all it takes to hold it there. so next time it will be faster to take it off. just pad it in places without bolts cuz it might vibrate.

wow, put all the bolts back in.

Hopefully Ill get a chance to do everything this weekend.

you dont need to drop the column, just remove the steering wheel with a puller kit that you can probably rent from Advance or Pep Boys or something. WHen you pull the wheel off, then slide your headlight/signal stalk off the column and well.

3 bolts across the top,1 on each side on either side of the vents, 1 on each side at the bottom,by the hood pull and the blower motor. Then open your glovebox, unscrew the glovebox and pull it out. There's 2 hidden bolts on the left side towards the heater controls. I think that's it for bolts.

Before you did ANY of that, you should have removed your gauge cluster and all of your heater controls from the dash and disconnect your wiring harnesses (on each side behind the dash by the kick panels) and fully remove the heater control switches. When all that is said and done, the dash should just be hanging there and if you get as close to the middle of the cab as you can, just lift it out by yourself.

As for the carpet,do like the guys said, remove the sills, kick panels and all that crap. When you get under the dash behind the radio, the headter core is bolted over top of the carpet. Your easiest bet is just take an exacto knife and cut around the heater core and then the carpet is still reusable. Just cut as close as you can, otherwise the cuts will be noticable if you use it in another truck.

I just put the 3 in the top,2 in the bottom and 2 in the side back,I dont bother with the ones inside the glovebox.

Also,if you are changing dashes, CHANGE THE VIN NUMBER to keep the correct one for your truck.

I'm having trouble getting the drivers side bolt on top by the windshield out, i have the other 2 on top off and the 2 underneath and the 2 on the sides and the 2 inside the glove box so i think this is the last one. The steering wheel is dropped already how am i suppose to get it out? Im so confused and fustrated im about to kick my windshield out
