alright, i found the problem....the ACC wire is getting no power to it. i found this out because i tested all the wires this morning with a multimeter again, i must have missed it b4. also its the factory acc wire for the truck...now my question is where does htis wire start so i can just run a new one to the deck.

or is there another way to do this.

thanks

Just start checking around, there are lots of wires back up in there to tap into. I think we had to find a new one to use for mine to.

i know this may sound stupid but did u check all the fuses? the ACC wire shouldnt just be dead unless the ignition switch is shot, you can tap into the lighter on the dash too,

if you still have problems PM me, if you want you can pop by my work i have all the tools and shit here to get you going, im at barton and lake ave. im here till 4

all the fuses are good, and i would pop by ur work, but im out on the east coast right now, haha, here for school, and the ignition works fine which is the wierd part

also which wire do i use from the cig lighter,

to kickinwing: which wire did you use to tap into?

thanks

ya ive used that site b4, i kno which wire are which, thats not the problem, the problem is getting power to the deck.

i just tried hard wiring the deck, lik splicing the ACC wire to the 12v constant, and still no power, i will get some pics up later of what it currently looks like.

Did you run a seperate ground wire from the HU to the firewall or somewhere? If you don't get anything off the constant power thatn most chances is your deck is causing your headaches .

Ok so trying to just jump in here, can you eject the CD with the truck completely off? That would mean the 12v constant is wired up fine. Now for the accessory wire you should be able to wire it to the stock one (I think its yellow... Possibly orange) and I might say I'd be looking into the problem if thats not getting power because like said before there isn't really a reason it shouldn't be other then fuses.

I would also have to say if you are in need of an acc power to use the cigarette lighter wire. Just use the positive off of that and it should work fine.

Ok so the stock power wire is not yellow or orange... Thinking of my other car lol.

Check this out if you haven't:

the headunit is grounded to the chassis.

im just gonna run a wire directly from the batt to the headunit, and im gonna put a 15a fuse couple inches past the batt incase of a short......we'll see how this goes
