so, i have a 89 standard cab n will b putting in some buckets soon, seats wont go all the way back being that im short (5'4&quot;), plus my gf is shorter than me n i dont care bout passengers really so that isn't a problem . i currently have 2 kicker comps (c10) and a 1000w phonics digital amp (pd-393). i beleive the c10's have a 150 rms rating. as for the amp its a 2 channel w/ a max output of 1000w @ 2 ohms/150w x 2 ch @ 2 ohms/100w x 2 ch @ 4 ohms/300 x 1 ch bridged, .03% @ 4 ohms/.05% @ 2 ohms. any other info needed for help <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_question.gif" alt=":?:" title="Question" /><!-- s:?: -->

i got no clue wen it comes to sounds n building boxes. im trying to figure out measurements n hoping to build something similar to this. sub enclosure n center will b 2 separate pieces. i dont want to cover it in carpet or anything.

sorry about the crappy illustration

how would i acheive the best performance from this sub/amp combo? should i change to a mono-amp n use this one to power the rest of my speakers? not planning to upgrade at the moment, maybe add some 6.5's in the doors and a double-din in the area that the stock radio goes but thats about it. how much space/volume will i need in the sub box? is ported or enclosed better? it will b 2 boxes but look like one single piece. also i want to try hide the amp incase theives wanna peek inside.

sorry about all the questions, i just wanna make sure i do it right n have a good sounding system. any help/info is greatly appreciated!!!

how about put the subs in the console ,and put the amps where the subs would normally go,ive built alot of them and they sound better in there than behind the seats in a standard cab cause theres more room for air space ,plus then you have more room for your legs ,just my 2 cents.

also are the subs single 4ohm voice coils or dual 4 ohm?

hmmm not too sure lemme go check

dont say in the owners manual n all it says on the sub is 8 ohms...guessing thats dual 4 ohm voice coils??

well like i said im short, so leg space isnt much of a concern.(i drive with the bench a few notches from being all the way forward). and yea i thot about putting them in the center but i wanted it to be an armrest n im trying to keep the sound system hidden as much as possible. ive already had someone try to break in to my truck in broad daylight on a sunday on a pretty busy street

well all the info i see says they arent dual ,but how many terminal jax are there ,cause im almost positive it isnt single 8 ,so more than likely ,dual 4 ?that would just determine what watt youll run at

terminal jax? where i connect the wire to the sub? if thats wat u mean i have 2 (1 positive 1 negative)

then you have a single voice coil sub ,and if it has an 8ohm sticker on it than its an 8ohm sub ,weird ,i never seen a car audio sub that was 8ohm ,most home audio is 8 ohm ,could you by any chance take a pic of magnet area ?im very curious now lol
