hahaha i understand those planes perfectly but ass for boom i just took my little bros. rockford 15 p1 and through it is my standard cab seat all the way forward of coarse but it fits and it rumbles i have also thrown in a type r 12 inch same thing seat all the way forward but i usably run 1 single alpine type r 10 inch in a standard sealed truck box and it thumps pretty good 8 inch is quick response

ill break down the size graph for you all
8 inch subs make a very quick bass response more used for like rock not deep bass
10 inch gets alittle more deep but still quite quick response
12 inch is the balance sub pretty even on the deep and quick response( most recommended all personal preference though)
15 inch is just insane deep low rumble everything bass (my favorite )

as for boxes if you are building a truck box that is ported or slotted you have to build the box long to account for the frequency and volume you need for the sub the best bet for a box in a std cab truck is a sealed box that isent too big but also not to small at the same time and you line the inside of the box with a insulator which actually tricks the sub in thinking it is a bigger box and there for allowing the sub/subs to live up to their full potential

my trucks got a box welded to the cab so I can have any size of sub put in... Id suggest doin that... I used a old jo box and welded it to the cab.. If not Id build a enclosure between the seats.. and mold it in to a center console...

not to thread jack or anything but i was gonna get two 10 inch cvrs and custom make a box so i can still have my seats laid in a comfortable position on both sides

As long as the mounting depth on your speakers are fairly shallow, and the box is designed like a wedge to be really skinny, especially near the top, you should be fine.
