JL Audio JX500/1 amp wiring

ok so i replaced all my 8 gauge wiring with 4 gauge wiring and added an extra ground from the battery to the body. exactly how "warm" are these amps supposed to run cuz its still gettin hot only after like 10 minutes of tuning it. again the gain is lower then half, so whats up?

Note: The Amplifier is not equipped with a fuse. An external 60-amp AFS, AGU, or MAXI fuse (not included) must be installed on the power wire. If a wiring kit is used which includes a fuse with a value other than 60-amps, the original should be replaced with a 60-amp fuse

other then that make sure your ground is to bare metal, not on a painted surface. same goes for the extra ground wire under the hood.
