Bucket Seats - Honda Civic

I hope this helps some people out there since I has a hard time finding solid information on this.
For the last 2 months I have been looking for seats for my "work truck". The driver side is all messed up and is hurting my lower back.
The upholstery shop wanted $360.00 for the repair and new skins, Cat skins was $1,200. So I started looking because I did not want to spend that much. The local Pick and Pull was very affordable but very poor selection.

I do not access to a welder so I wanted it to be "bolt on".
I picked up Rodeo Seats and it was too much work to make them sit low.
I looked at the Neon option, the not reclining forward ruined it for me.
Looked at 2006 Celica, decent price but welding required in the rear . (great looking seat).
Finally landed a pair of 2000 Honda Civic (didn't get the trim level).

On the 2000 Honda Civic Seats
I only had to bend the ear back were the bolt goes thru (no welding!).
I did this with a pair of pliers (very easy)
Drilled 3 new holes and bot new screws.
I did the passenger side already next is the driver side.
I will take more pictures of the driver side and post them when I do it.
By the way, I decided to use he Mazda seat belt buckle, so I had to remove the Honda from the side of the seat.
The bolts, nuts, and washers I used cost around $6 at the local hardware store.

Glad you found a solution!! I would use grade 8 bolts. I had a bolt break for my seat when I was in a head on collision. I saw that civic seats would go in with bending the one tab. I sized up the stock seats from my 96 civic in my truck. I didn't want to drill holes, so I will modify brackets when I put them in.

Not bad for a "work truck" in my opinion.

how comfy are those? i have factory Mazda buckets in mine and after about a hour I start to hurt.

In my opinion very comfy. I sat in it yesterday for 40min and wow! what a difference. The driver side has some adjustability that comes in very handy to tune it in to you specific likings. My old seat (driver side) was broken so 10 minutes in I was already hurting. I am sure there are better ones out there but for the money and the ease of installation I am extreamly pleased. Friday I have to work in this truck so that would be the ultimate test. 100 stops in 3hous of getting in and out of it, ....then I can tell you better.

looks good. I put power lumbar seats in from a ford probe GT. rails lined up just needed to use the right bolts and washers to level them.
