I myself being 19 and just the way I'am would have to say. no on giving your truck to him.

He'll learn the right way to build his own truck and understand it takes alot more to make a custom mini.

my kid is 9 she will be building her own truck she will be getting for her 11th birthday. whatever she wants to do to it is cool with me but it will be torn down to a frame and built up from there so she will think twice about driving it drunk or letting he friends drive it cuz she will know how much work it was to build it....

my daughters first car will be a piece of shit. then that way when (not if) she wrecks it, it wont really care. then when she knows better and can drive better, then i will cut her loose in something nice. it doesnt matter about dating anyway, shes not allowed to date until shes married...lol

i would be down for doing something still that weekend. it will still be a long drive for me but it will be dissapointing if i dont do anything that weekend. my gf even had the time off from work to go down to DOA because she wanted to go to her first truck run. after i found out it was cancelled i still was plannin on goin down there for the weekend to camp near the coast or somethin like that with her but i would be totally down to hang out with a bunch of minitruckers.
