First I set the heater controls on fresh air and selected defog/lower vent. Then took them out. The vent thats behind the controls, I cut off and hot glued a plastic filler cap on. So now I have the blower motor speed and hot/cold selection. Works perfectly in the cold because you still have defog and heat for the small cab. Plus with the center vent capped the other vents blow even harder. In the summer the cool air still flows because its on fresh air.

Just some more pics of some of the progress. I figured while it was imobile I would throw in the drop spindles and flip the ball joints. I was really suprised how easy it was, only took about 2 hours for everything. Now its about 3 inches lower and I still have alright travel.

nice, good job on the pics too, I always get asked about ball joint flipping, I dont see being able to explain it any easier than what can be seen in the pic ya got there.
Are those stock spindles?

No there drop spindles. The lower ball joint boots are ripped and they look like S10 joints? Does anyone know what they are? Wheels seem to be ok, I can turn fully with no rubbing but I didn't have too much time to screw around with it. After I just turned up the torsions so the body guys didn't hate me too much.

yeah, they looked diff to me, are ya gonna need to pie cut your uppers when you turn down the torsions to prevent the top BJ from binding?
sierrax   +1y
When it was down the uppers looked ok but like I said, I didn't have much time to mess around and really see where it sat. Do you usually need to change the angle of the BJ when you do the flip?

On the body side, doors are stripped and primed, fenders are painted on the inside and put back on, and also the hood and the cowl. All of the inner structure has been repaired and covered. Now just a little more fitting and it should be ready for some color. I'll post some more pics soon.

I can see a lot of variables affecting the camber, wheel off set, torsion adjustment, etc. So I dont know what to expect I think everyone has a differing opinion, it just depends on how exacty yer set up.

Sounds like ye gettin somewhere with the body!

and good idea painting the inside of your fenders, what primer / sealer / inhibitor, did you use?

I have no idea. I'm not a painter or a body expert by any means. The owner of the shop did show me the brands of everything that he uses and why they are so good but really, I just want it to have a shine and I'll be happy. The inner fenders are even cleared, if the outside looks like the inside I'll be really happy.

Like I said before, the owner is a close friend of a co-worker and was nice enough to give me a key to the shop to work on it after hours. To keep the costs down, he just leaves me a list of what he wants done that night and I do them. The first night I made the bumper mounts for the taco bumper and then, stripped the whole front end, took out the rear glass, door handles, locks etc. Then there was 2 holes he found in the inner structure that went into the cab and a dent in the drivers door, so I stripped the interior. Its worked out well so far.
