is the gas tank from a standard cab?

Yes, The ext cab tank wouldn't fit in between the rails. Sending unit is the same. Direct fit and this tank fits nicely between.

right on. thats what I was thinkin of doing but I didnt know if it was the same. my extended cab tank wont take more than 9 gallons cause its been bashed in for ground clearance and the necks been shortened.

using the reg cab tank is so easy and the sending unit are interchangable . the tank thats in cid's was out of a carb truck and we put the whole unit out of his which is a fuellie and it works awsome.
