so i've been working a little here and there on a new project for the mazda. i've been working on it on and off for about a month, i usually only get to work on it for 10-15 min at a time, so it's kinda annoying.i don't have time to post all about it right now, but here's a pic or 2...
here are some of the welds on this mystery project.

holy stack-o-dimes speedster, nice metal-melting! looks like a
frame-o-somesort? nuff of keeping us in suspense, what's the deal?

i must admit, i'm not the TIG master, i had a guy i work with named Dave weld it for me. he's been TiG welding for 30 or so years.
yes it's a frame of sorts, my new front clip. from the firewall foreward, set up to lay out on 20's and a hefty bodydrop... currently BD 3 1/2 inches, but i'm looking to go 4-5"...

I'm going to run 1 1/8" .250 wall DOM for my A-arms and its bent as you can see. i'm setting up to run Slam RE7's with 1/2" line and SMC 10mm valves.(my current setup, just a bigger better bag)
the frame rails will be pinched just over 3" total, and the upper a arms are a little longer than stock. oh, and i'm narrowing the trackwidth from the stock 55.1" to 54", so i can run a little deeper dish wheel and still tuck it inside the 2wd sheetmetal.
the kickup is .188 wall 2x4 and the rest is .120 wall 2x3(inner gusseted and plug welded of course)
The a arm crossmember is also .188 wall 2x4.
both the upper and lower arms will be fully adjustable, for camber and caster and a little bit of track width adjustment.

and in case anyone is curious, yes all the seams in the tubing line up, and all face the inside.
