Not as easy to join a club as you may think. I have good friends in some of the big clubs like <ST> and (NC), its rather difficult to get in. They have to pretty much WANT you to be in before you wanna be. And there are guidelines that you must meet to even roll with them.
That's why I am pretty much in my own club. I was asked in '01 by a guy over the net from California. He has this wild idea of expanding his club. So, he asked if I wanted to be head of a chapter here. So I did. I wanted to start my own, but I went with this one instead. I even had my own decals/logos made up for my club.
I am in unlimited. Just that. I am obviously head of it here, not sure if there's anymore of it left in Cali or AZ. The founder owns Unlimited Metal Fab. in Yucca Valley, CA. I've only talked with him over the phone. Never had the opportunity to meet him and his other chapters.
As of right now, I have 2 guys with me in my chapter. Its in reformation, AGAIN. One is here, hes RocketAlpha. He's also the best man in my upcoming wedding. I told him YEARS back he can roll in my club anytime he wants. The other kid is in the D50/Mighty Max scene. He's NvrDoneD50 i believe. Hes got a bagged/body dropped D50.
Now to the real kicker of a question. What makes 1 club better than the other? How can you tell good from bad? You cant. Its on YOU. My club, well, it sucks. LOL. No, not because of the rides, which is a pretty big factor, but because I dont have MORE of my friends in it. That's what I am doing for my club. Not based on how fine ur ride is. Not how big your wheels are or how much is tucked away. Not how fast, not how loud, not how low, or not how many colors are in the paint. ITs solely based on my personal interaction with those people.
I have a few friends here in a club called Explicit Concepts. The head of the chapter I been knowing for years. EACH and EVERY time I talk to him, he's wondering when I will join his club. I have no problems with ANYONE in his club, and thats still an option for me, and most likely the other guys in my club,
Think of a name. Dont be too goofy with it. LOL. Then think of some form of guidelines, or required things to roll with you. Before you start one...be sure you have a ride that will attract positive attention. Without that, no one will want to roll with you.
(oh yeah, and leave the drama OUT of the clubs. I've seen some pretty dramatic crap from some BIG clubs)
