Just tossing a idea out here. I wanted to do this to my regal when i was younger it sat about 2" off the ground. The back window i wanted to work like the back of a canopy does or like the side windows only open at the bottom and tilt out. As i get older and more time i may look into doing somthing like that but if you have the time and tools i think it would look bad ass on a mini

thats a really good idea. i may see about that. not to steal your idea.

No problem would love to see it on a truck.

Update on the rear disk i think i got the rear rotor today and they are not deep enough for a good bracket. Plus i put the rotor up against one i had and it was the same size that i use the small midsize calipar on.
So im trading the rotors i got for the others cant remember if i got front or rear...will check and trading the 76 impala calipar for the 78 to 86 midsize gm calipar (same as s-10) i hope to have it all traded and mocked up by the weekend. Also the center will need to be opened up to 3.3/4 i think they are 3.0 now and i would highly recomend not grinding the center because the rotor has large holes for the stud and it wont center right. You could center with a lugnut then drill a hole and tap it to use a countersunk allen head. More to come!!

thanks on the update man! ive been giving this a tone of thought. i want some huge rotors up front. i have some machinest's that are willing to do this. dont flame me for my idea just give me honest opinons.

im thinking buying a big brake kit for say an escalade. then i machien the hub part off so its just a completly flat disk like the mazdas. then take and have a peice weldied (tiged to keep heat to a minumum) in the center then have a machienest bore the center and drill the holes so it will bole directly back to the mazda hub. then just build a braket for the caliper.

im thinking if its tig welded right it should work perfect. opinions on this please.

I think your truck would look killer completely restored except for the baggs and wheels. All new emblems etc. Maybe find some rare dealer installed accesories. That is what the Full size Chevy, Ford guys are doing with their older body style trucks. I haven't seen too many minis take this approach. I would even paint it a factory color. The wheels and suspension mods on your truck are crazy enough.

thats a very good idea. to bad they didnt make a b2400 lol. how about some minor mods as well as the stock aproach. like a 4 runner bumper. billit grill and smoked taillights. i should go back with the stock color? maybe shave the key holes and antenna. but leave the emblems and put a pinstripe like from stock??

I think the rotors are cast and will not take well to just tig...if they are cast then they have to be heated very hot while welding. Im sure you could find a rotor to go on the spindle of these trucks.....were there is a will there is a way. I have spent hours at the part store going over numbers to miss match things but allways find a way to use stock parts What im thinking is that if you cut all the rotor off the fronts then just used the hub and put the aftermarket hat over it to take like the wilwood rotors and calipars.

i may be wrong but wasn't there a b2400 in the ranger body style sure would be ironic to use the badges with the 24's
