Thanks guys. I'm still practicing the TIG thing though. I have too much undercut on these, and not enough consistency. I'll get it eventually though.

Mmm sexy welds.

how long have you been tig welding seth? those welds dont look too bad. there is quite a bit of undercut though. as for the concistency, that just comes with alot of practicing. i took tig in highschool and welded 8 hours a day 5 days a week for 3 months. hated it when i first tried it in highschool but love it now because of the skill it takes. being consistent with tig is learning how to have the same amout of peddle, tip direction and speed. and amount of wire your feeding. Thats the reason i love it so much is because you can alter all those aspects by just changing one things. those welds look good it looks like you may need to get something better to lean on cuz it looks like the puddle is a little shaky. and remember that you want to burn the fill rod into the puddle manually so you can shape it and not have the puddle so hot the fill rod melts automatically because it will just fill to the hottest spot which could be to the left or to the right of center. hope this helps out a little.

How long? About 4 hours.

The last two shots show the piece that got the worst of the undercut, and the first piece I did. I need more filler. Thats all. I did some more test pieces today with the same amps and got less undercut.

damn id say your doin damn good for only 4 hours.

I did another fillet weld using 3/32 rod and it turned out much better. I was only on 120 amps, so the undercut was from lack of filler.

nice welds

good to hear man. Do you enjoy tigging better than mig? i enjoy way more just for the simple fact it takes time and skill to do it.

I like how quiet TIG is compared to MIG. I still like MIG a lot though. Maybe because I have it down. But I think all welding is just soothing, aside from flux.

Seth: How long have you been doing stuff like this (welding, suspension building, whatever else u do)? What did you have to do to learn all you know? Take classes, read books? Looks like you do some good ass work but the main thing I am currious about is how you establish the geometry and shit of the whole suspension.

It seems to me like bagged trucks arent built to carve corners so the suspension work only needs to fit regular driving. Is that how you think of it or do you like your set ups to perform better than stock?

I guess I really just want to know what it takes to establish various suspenision and support geometry for doing a bagged truck.
