Got the bumper finished up.... Got the brackets plated up with the 3/16" steel, and got the bumper mounted. It was quite a bit of work but it saved me some money, so thats always good. Here's the pics....

This is the brackets after they were plated up. I'm definatley gettin better at weldin!! This is the first job i've done where i actually impressed myself beacuase all the welds look good! ........

I got my bumper, valance, and clear bumper lights off ebay

you can get mazda to toyota pickup bumper brackets, or mazda to 4 runner brackets, or toyota pickup to 4 runner brackets from fbi but theyre 60 bucks plus shipping, and prolly not as strong as these....

hey bgdb26k, do you have any pics of your brackets???

well that'll be a while before that goes in, maybe i'll put it in this winter, that is if i will be able to backhalf it this winter, depends on the daily driver/money situation

I know its not gonna be easy, hence that fact its not done alot, but we'll see i guess :D:D

i haven't done an irs, but i'd say it'd be just as hard/easy as any other irs. they all will have a considerable amount of fab work for the average joe minitrucker, getting the new crossmembers made so they are strong and functional, making sure the rearend is square in the frame and at the right height... it really wouldn't be too bad, but you'd have to have the right equipment and knowhow to make it look good. and you need to choose the right irs that has the correct track width. some are wider that others. like a corvette would be a bad choice unless you want to have new half shafts made. anything's possible, just depends on time skill and money.
