Well I bought it. Last Saturday I plunked down $2400 cash for my new project. Its name... The Orange Howler. So named because of its flat orange paint job and because the pinion gets in a bind at any speed over 35mph, emitting shreiks like a banshe. Luckily, I have an extra rear axel from my last project. This one is also an auto trans. It is totaly wierd to drive since I am so used to having to shift all the time. I keep grabbing the shifter handle and then realizing I dont need it. My plan is to repair what needs to be repaired and drag the snot out of it every day. Of course my freinds will tell you that before summer it will be getting a custom paint job, bd and new wheels. I swear I am going to refrain from going crazy again. I really like this truck's old school style. The first repair will be the suspension, then the AC (A big guy like me doesn't need to sweat) and then the interior. Luckily, I have a whole garage full of parts that I have been hoarding since the beginning of B2000 Mazda time (unoffically and argueably 1986). I might rock the ranger lights and grill from my old truck and I have a brand new 4runner bumper in my rafters that could look sexy. At some point I will put OEM front fenders and a new to me core support on it. During this trucks life it had some sort of collision that was repaired by a homeless guy on crack. Sorry about the book, but I am really excited about this new project. Oh and as a side note, I did NOT have to grease up the door frame to get in. This standard cab is fat guy approved! I will limo tint the windows just to see the looks on people's faces when I get out.
