I'll get a few better pics Monday, including a couple upskirts LOL. She's going on a lift to have her lowers re-welded since one broke. Fresh welds and going to weld in a couple gussets to be safe. I'd do it myself, but I broke the welder out today and the maintenance guys almost had heart attacks. Living in apartments can suck!

OK, so not having a garage or decent work space makes things hard and requires a shop sometimes. This also let me REALLY get under her and see what other half-assed shit was done. I knew a little about her, but the welds up top looked SO nice! I couldn't believe this shit! Sorry, but I'm pissed and just had a day off to post this and it reminds me what's there

Going up!

No WONDER my my truck drove funny, I thought the rear-steer option was acting up!

Tack and weld up the outside with a HUGE washer to help spread the load and we come to this!

Notice the dark hole surrounding the bolt? THAT much of the frame was chewed up by the loose link bolt walking around. Time for a new 5" washer on this side as well!

Check it out, my truck can throw sparks even when it's up high LOL!

So after all is said and done, we look at the other side and notice that the same crap welds are coming apart as well... damnit! Oh well...

We re-did the same thing that we did on the passenger side to the driver side. Large washers to help spread the load. I also made some small braces to weld in to the inside of the bolt.

Soooo, that brings me to the misc. crap I noticed so far. Here's the inside of a notch...

In the front, the top bag mount touches into the ball joint and the bag has barely enough room for a sheet of paper! Live and learn huh?

I have a thing for buying projects, but this one is going to take some time to fix right. I call the number 3 spot in the Mexitruck Club! LOL But at least it can drag! Even my 18 month old loves it, that's her saying dada.

Damn that has some sketchy suspension work. Good to see your fixing it.

You're telling me! I found out that the original owner did everything halfassed before he sold it to the kid I bought it from. The body is already done and amazingly was done right. Truck should be flat black by next week with the misc. body repairs done (see tailgate pic). Tearing out the interior now, the entire tweed interior isnt my thing. Get some more pics up in the next couple days.

Like the project, sucks that all that suspension work was so sketchy.

I've got a 10 month old daughter myself.

cool project man. i bought my 83 after it was all bagged and everything. and i have been slowly un hacking it. the guy that bagged it did a hell of a job but the clowns afterwards jacked it up. so i am slowly getting it back to where it needs to be. good luck with it.
