depends on how much you think is to much, i paid $400 to have my clutch, through out bearring changed and pressure plate (RESURFACED) <---- no way to tell if its gone unless the trans is dropped, i could of done the job myself but i dont have access to a lift and didn't feel like laying on my back with the truck on jack stands.... oh and the motor, you can get them rebuilt for cheap or buy one at a junk yard cheap man, just call around before you go getting rid of it...

id find another motor to either replace it or do a swap ...

i wouldnt get rid of it all ya know !!!

i dont plan on getting rid of the truck at all, even if it is through the seals. if worse comes to worse and its not worth fixing that engine, me and my best friend have already planned on parking it in my yard to turn into our future show truck. and in the mean time i'll save up and buy another lil truck.

Hey man if you decide to ditch that motor let me know. You are only like 4 hours away and I need a decent 2.2 block. If it is just a leak that could be head gasket and what not...I got a nice head and a complete gasket kit for my mess that I ended up not using... Let me know. I would even be willing to come down and help pull it. It is a 5 speed right?

yeah it's a 5 speed. i'm hoping that its only the head gasket or something like that though and not the rings. i should hopefully find out tomorrow. i'll keep this thing updated though

i wouldn't get rid of it.

changed out the whole clutch on ma truck for $110. and the oil is prolly a seal. if it where the rings you would just burn oil. it wouldn't dump on the ground

well i talked to the mechanic earlier. He told that me that it isn't leaking through the rings, but from the slave cylinder and thats throwing oil all over the front underbody of the truck. then told me a final price of around $500 for new clutch, slave cylinder, and labor.

idk man.. lol 500 is kinda spending but i guess it depends on how much ya love your truck lol

well i got my truck back yesterday afternoon, final bill of $537.50...sucks. Luckily though the place is gonna let me make payments for the next month or two. On the plus side though now it shifts super smooth though...i love it. tomorrow's project of the day is to put a new fuel filter in it, i think it may be clogged. the truck has developed a habit of dying on me when i'm not giving it gas.
