my 83 build

so as some of you know i have an 83 b2000 that i will be doing up, my plans are 18s if theyll fit and build a polished timber tray to sit flat on the chassis with wheel tubs built in im hoping to hav it in primer soon and motor out for the ful tidy up i have no idea what colour to paint it any suggestions??? as long as its not blue i dont care lol im going to need lots of help and advice along the way so i will be on here everyday, i want to smooth the back wall, 1 peice glass with cornier mirrors like newer models shave antenna, passenger lock, guard indicators and whatever else there is, i started the grill already and got everything cut out of the centre, any ideas will be very much appreciated and some interior pics from your trucks would be nice if possibe.

i have a few questions: do the 83s have torsion bars?? iv never owned anything with torsions so i dont know what to look for, also this is for the aussie guys, i want to shave the door handles with manual poppers (rod near window line) but i have been told they need to be engineered can anybody confirm this for me??

can't wait to see it man. mine was candy apple red when i got it. it looked very nice but i am not much into red so i won't be going back to it.

as for shaving, there is a lot on these trucks to shave, take your time and let it cool down because this stuff is pretty thin.

there are no torsion bars, it is a coil over setup. when you bag it you will want to z it so you don't drag the lower control arms.

and i know you guys have to get a ton of shit approved by an engineer but do you really have to get the shaved door handles approved as well? that is crazy!


and again, if you ever want to do the steering conversion, let me know. i will trade you stuff.

hey i love your truck your album was the first one i went through, im not 100% whether the handles need 2 be approved but thats what i have been told, what exactly is involved in a steering swap? what do you change?? THANKS Appsy1

dash and steering box are the 2 main things. can't really think of anything else right now. i am tired. haha. i think that is true about the handles though, i think i heard that somewhere before. that is just wild to me. haha, especially if you see some of the vehicles that are "custom" on the roads around here! pretty scary! hahaha.

As it stands me and maztang are the only pre 84 bagged trucks on here. Please contribute and make yourself lucky #3 lol.

gotta be an active member though, there was a pre 84 guy on here before that was bagged and had some nice old school interior but he never gets on anymore. So me and maztang are the only active bagged pre 84 members.

my original plan was to bag it but not enough money, stupid engineers and my dad changed my mind, so static it is lol it should still look good when its finished just need 2 finish my other project and get my cortina regod and i can start pourin money into it and get some pics up Appsy1
