nice to see someone finish the welds on a notch.

I've had my nose in a minitruckin' mag for ten years now. I've seen a lot of stuff I like, and a whole lot of stuff I don't like. I hold myself and my work to a very high standard, there's no excuse for crappy looking work, especially when it's something you are supposed to be proud of. This truck is an example of the work I can do. If I were to hack together my own ride, who wants me hacking on theirs?

I finished my front passenger bag mounts today. woohoo! I love progress. The way I did it was not as easy as z-ing the frame, but I now have minimally changing camber, and my steering box and engine are still in the same place.

z'ing the frame isnt necessarily for bagging, its for laying flat on the fram if your frame rails dont layup front, like a toyota or something....

That must be nice to have your truck up in the air like that. Im sure it makes things a hell of alot easier to do. When are you planning on having everything all finished up?

What I meant was that I could have had an easier time with the bag mounting and the arms wouldn'd have been pie cut if the frane had been z'ed, since the arms wouldn't have had to go up as far to lay out. But since I didn't, my arms had to go up further, decreasing the room I had for my huge 2600 bag, and the bj's locked out , so I had to pie the arms. then I raised the upper mounts to correct the camber, make the camber consistent, and make more room for the bag. had I known the uppers were going to be raised, I wouldn't have needed to pie the uppers.

The truck will be back on the ground with a mostly finished front setup by saturday afternoon. The truck has to go outside by monday. from then on, it can be wheeled in and out after work every day for more mods. I still need to do the triangulated reverse four link, raise and remount the gas tank, build and mount my airtank and exhaust, and bd the bed. I'm going to bd the bed about 7 inches. 5 for the notch, and 2 for the bodydrop. Then I'm going to eventually skin the tailgate, fill the tails, and sheetmetal the inside of the bed walls. then bedliner, probably.
The truck won't see the road this year. This winter, I'll freshen up the engine, replace all the tie rods, bushings, and balljoints, put in new brake and fuel lines, as well as hardline the bags.

Well, Its coming along VERY nicely! Great job so far man

Can i ask why you are doing the reverse 4-link? most people i see say they dont want to relocate the gas tank. it only takes a little bit of fuel line and some welding to relocate the tank.

I want to leave the tank in the factory position, on the driver's side but raised an inch or two, and put a large air tank in the same position on the passenger side of the truck. I don't want anything in the bed, and I will be raising the bedfloor, but not enough to keep the tank out of harm's way if it were in the rear, but the 4 link fits there just fine. I've designed it to give me a decent instant center and center of gravity. I may go with a forward 4 link, if the chassis is still as flexible as it is now, after I plate the inside with 1/4". The frame flexes a bit between the cab and notch. With the reverse 4 link, the frame would flex there from being supported at the rear of the frame, but I believe plating the inside will solve that. The frame is very thin, like 12 gauge.
