One question. How do you tow it around? I have seen this truck at a few shows but i have never seen how it is towed or moved.

She is fully towable with a removable hitch in the front

Chris - she is looking great!!!! Really cleaned up well. Wish I could make it out your way for a few Mazda burgers or maybe a some Mazda ribs LOL. I assume you have towed it a few times - how does it pull? My guess with it stripped down a bunch ( no motor, tranny, etc) it probably is not much different than a small Bass boat. If you ever plan on hitting a show East of Denver, Please let me know!

Its not quite as light as a small bass boat, all the steel for the bbq enclosure and the 4 part cooler in the bed, it actually added quite a bit of weight. I'm not sure on now but it used to tow great!

Thanks Linn Its not that quite that light maybe a bayliner ski boat I towed it over here a couple of months ago with our old V6 van and it towed nice and smooth even over the pass. I would love to come east someday and hit up a show. But if I do I think I will blow it completely apart and redo and repaint it. Even with the changes I have made too it it

even if you paint it and completely re-do it, there will still be people saying "remember that old mazda grill that used to be around, this guy copied it and made another one" and you will have to explain that its not another one but indeed the original one. i think the mazda grill legacy will follow it or any truck thats built like a grill. its just odd enough that itll get singled out every time. sorry dude but its friggin rad and youre gonna have to explain it.
now a new rebuild will be great to freshen it up and give it a new twist. it will most definately help it become yours with youre touches and flare. its looked like that for along time, it deserves a make-over. call ty and we can have "extreme makeover, mazda edition"

I personally wouldn't look at it that way. I would say that I am perserving it for the future. Even though someone else built it, I know it took a lot of work to put it back in working shape. You should be proud to be the caretaker for the one and only Mazda grill and I know I would love to see it in person someday. Maybe I am just feeling nostalgic, but this grill is an icon of the west coast scene don't let a bunch of idoits get you down. When someone at a show says some snarky remark about how someone else built the truck, you can tell them "Yeah and I restored it to working order, want a burger?" I am sorry, but I am sick of the whole built not bought issue. I built my roadster, but if I did not have one and someone had mine for sale, I would rock it with no regret. F' the haters.
