so, finally got some time to get some things done. built new upper link bars... hopefully more pics to come soon. i need to get my old wishbone tabs cut off the top of the pumpkin and sanded smooth, weld all the upper bar tabs on, and get my bag plates made...

check out this. i had a plunge joint or slip yolk installed in my 2nd driveline and you can really see how much the rear end travels, and how much abuse your carrier bearing takes with full suspension travel(pictured is about 13")
***Notice the plunge joint depth***

"layed out"

"ride height"

"fully aired up"

That is more movement than I expected. No wonder I am due for a new carrier bearing on the purple truck. thanks for the pics Geoff!

for sure!! i thought that was a little food for thought... i have a feeling most people don't realize it moves so much. and if you have shorter link bars, it will translate to even more forward and backward motion on your carrier. i needed a new one too, so got the new carrier, plunge joint, and had the pinion flange changed to the toyota one all at the same time. with balancing it was like $375. not bad IMO - and the pinion U joint is brand new and servicible!! it'll definately outlast the rest of the truck lol

man thats money well spent for that drive shaft. and it looks top quality too.

got my new axle tabs welded in place yesterday, and my lower bag mounts to the bars, and made some gussets for the plate. welded them off-center to avoid the bag mount holes

i tell u what, these SD under bar gussets have some serious mill scale. shitty stuff to try to sand off. had to bust out 36g sand paper just to take the scale off - 80g wouldn't cut it. must be hot rolled and then plasma cut and that shit just burned in or something.

yeah the sanding sucks but they look clean as hell man.
