Hey guys, just started the tear down on my 91 mazda, havent spent too much on it yet but i figure i would start the thread and start posting updates. I only really have time on weekends since i have a new house , wife etc. etc. but i will get as much done as possible. so far just have the front taken apart , the box off and starting to clean up the rear.

and a question.... i dont know a whole lot about brakes but is this thing necessary? or can it be taken out and run the lines straight to the drums?

Ok well i started on the 4 link... got the main crossmember all fabbed up.Those are 1/2'' urethane peices in between the pivot's as that was the best thing i could find in the shop to use. everything is square and proper but somehow the pic's always change that. The four link will be modelled after tre5's as it keeps the tank in the stock location. other then that just waiting on some warmer weather to get out there and start on it!

the thing u want to get rid of is the proportioning valve for the anti lock brake system. Most guys on here dont use it.I do cause these trucks are notoriously tail end light and want to swap ends on heavy braking.up to u dude.bj

Thanks dude, considering I wont be driving it in anything other then ideal conditions I think I will just ditch it. Ordered the heims to finish up the four link, should be here in about a week or so. Other than that i will be z'ing and notching the frame. Yes I have hydraulic lines but they were free to make so im just going to use them to bag it, I wont have to worry about leaks atleast

got about another hour of work done on the truck... fabbed up the two bottom pivots for the axle... and both the upper arms for the link. nothing is welded or tightened, all that will be done after its mocked up.Also made some new urethane peices... figured i would make them look a little better then the other crappy ones i quickly made last time.

Well I have been slowly pecking away at her, got the frame Z'd, most of it is welded up but I still have a some to finish up. dont mind some off the outer plate, i was just trying to figure out this new welder I picked up, had some troubles at first getting the setting down but i got it all dialed in now so I will go and re-do any sub par beads. let me know what you think! 4 link should be finished up this weekend!!! w00t w00t!
