<>Roadster Show Mazda<> 86 B2200 rebuild update 3/4/13

Hey Jason what did you do to have to prep the Automatic shifter for paint? I know its a hard rubber. I was wondering because I am wanting to paint mine and I have an auto.

Ill tell you if you give me the little plastic cap that goes on the side of the shifter base mine was gone and you want to talk about a hard to find part. I may just end up welding it shut and smoothing it. but till then im looking for one. lol

any how all I did was use scotch brite and our prep stuff to clean it and then hit it with plastic addhesion stuff and painted it like the rest of the plastics. It has only been done for a couple weeks dont know how it will hold up in the heat. i guess we will see at the MD show in may.

LOL well if it matters the house was done first and is due for a repaint but it is easy to give directions to it with blue trim. The street i live on used to be called easter egg row. kinda smaller houses and when they were built they where all bright colored. I just happen to have the only garage on the street and its almost as big as the house. oh and my ford is blue and silver too. I would have to say i like blue a little much.


and thanks everone else it keeps me motivated to work on it. oh that and the fact shows are coming again.

Hey Ill see if I can find that part for you in my box of extra parts I have. I have a few auto shifters and the plastic base. My truck is an auto and my shifter base doesnt have a hole right there. Mine is solid on that side. Ill look for ya. I may have a base with no hole right there. Would look better than a cap.

Nice Im still new to the whole auto trans in a mazda lol. I didnt know they made one with out. Are you planing on coming over for beavers show.

Im still thinking about it. I need to talk to the rest of my club and see what we are doing. I know a few Magical rides always go. I know Will and Kristy will go. I think they usually do. Ill see if I can find you a base tomorrow.

Well ill be here and as of now i have plans to be at Relaxin at the rock and Sittin Pritti so long as it works out with work.
