Today I converted the truck to a 1 wire GM alternator and added a 6G wire lead to the battery. The bracket was simply made from some flat plate with washers and 1 bolt.
I didn't modify the factory tension bracket in any way.
Hopefully these pictures can help others do the swap
I no longer have a check engine light or battery light on! The guy who built this alternator does a lot of custom builds for all applications and told me the oem mazda alt was probably putting out about 40 amps at idle and my new one will put out over 100!
My two 444C Viair compressors are drawing 78 amps alone
Thanks for looking guys
