This thing is either a diamond in the rough or a really bad idea.

I bought it a couple months ago, and I finally located an inexpensive remanufactured 2 bbl carb for it. Sometimes E-bay works out.

My carb had a worn-out throttle shaft, so rebuilding it wouldn't have helped and the nearest rebusher machine shop was $120.00. "We have a reman unit for $245.00" Umm. . . thanks, I'll think about it.

High bid at $45.00. plus $19.00 for the shipping. . .do the math, and I bought the carb and saved a lot.

Brown paint.

Automatic.

Power steering with a leaky pump. . .which is cheap to fix with a Pull-a-part not too far away.

Big cab.

Cloth, worn out bench seat. Room for three across.

A/C that maybe works but parts are cheap if I need them too.

A HUGE LONG BED.

A tailgate that opens and shuts.

Brown paint.

Probably 16 miles per gallon.

A 250 CID straight 6-cylinder TRACTOR MOTOR that doesn't smoke.

Noisy exhaust until heat closes the crack at the flange.

Dents.

Dings.

Cracked windshield.

Cracked dash.

Wing windows.

A slider rear.

And now it starts when it's cold because it has a working choke on it.

Brown paint.

White fromt bumper, dented.

I need an air cleaner housing, since the PO kept taking it off to start the truck and now has lost it I think.

No emissions. . . it's exempt because it's an '81. That's $25.00 that I get to keep every year.

Original 15" steel wheels. With the original chrome spinners and trim rings.

I already had 5 tires . Now I can use them to replace the worn out booties on this sled.

No spare.

No jack.

Brown paint.

Chevy C-10 Scottsdale.

Sounds like it's a bit rough, but where is an '81 smog exempt?

I doubt it is actually a tractor motor. Chevy did make a 250 strait 6.

The LE3 was a 250-cubic-inch (4.1 L) I6 engine produced from 1979 to 1984.

In some form or another,Chevy produced OHV straight 6's for a long-g-g-g time---236 ci, 250 ci,272 ci and GMC put a 302 ci straight 6 in their pickups. A torque monster. Back in the day,McGurk and others produced speed equip for these thing. McGurk even had a 5 carb set up for the big Chevy six and the 302 Jimmie.Ah--those were the days.lol.bj
