hey for thous ppl out there that have a dump box on their b2200...well did u have any issues with the lower corner of the front of the bed rubbing on the cab wall as it rises up and down? it scrapes the shit outta my cab wall...my spacing from the cab to bed is approx 1 1/4 inch..anymore and i feel it look to open (weird) lol
any help would be amazing guys..thanks

i had mine set up the same as the stock gap and it got close but did not hit or rub, i had my hinge at the end of the frame, no blocks or anything, just welded to the ends

my hinges are at the ass end also...i see so many ppl have a dump box with no problems as far as i can see...but i have one...lol i could always notch the cab wall a 1/4...i really dont wanna have a huge 1 1/2 gab between the cab and box...looks gross

i am plannin one out right now
I have been told it should work by peeps who have done it
I think the key is the fulcrum has to be at the same height as the leading edge ( bottom front of the box ) this increases the travel angle away from the cab

basically if the pivot point is too high the travel path arc of the box collides with the cab
think of the whole circle of travel

I was thinkin bout a cantilever like a trunk on a car with gas struts, and a remote solenoid to release a locking pin and have it wired with my shaved handles, just a slight lift needed to get it to raise

little more complex, but it would lift up and away basically.

A lot of fab and figuring to do still, but I am getting close to that part o the build

thanks man never thought of it like that....lol i willl try again and figure it out..

yeh I wanna get it right on the first try, may just do it simply
the real key is to have the bottom of the box pull up and away
post pics of yer brackets etc

hope it helps

my tabs are 4 inch high up the rear frame which is custom...som im sure thats my problem...i really dont wanna cut them off and reweld..

sorry dude, I dont see any way around that, geometry cant lie,.........
if ya flip em it should buy ya the space needed, right?
or if u use a cantilever swing hinge with them but thats a lot of trial and error, unless yer an engineer, lol
