Cool I'm in AZ too! So your saying if I run a weber and put dummy vacuum lines on all the unused ports I'll probably be ok? Also what did you do with the exhaust pipes that would have gone to the stock intake? Do you think I could trouble you for a pic of your setup?

You could always just cut the bottom of your stock air cleaner to fit the weber. It won't be functional but it will help pass a visual inspection and it will hide most of the vacuum ports. I did it to mine. I still need to get e tested though...

What about the charcoal canister? I think they do some kind of pressure test on it.

Ok so I took it in for emissions today and failed the pressure test due to a leaking charcoal canister. They put a special gas cap on and pressurized the gas tank and that's it, they don't actually test the canister as long as there's no pressure loss. So could I just put a hidden plug in the line going from the tank to the canister right before I get to the test place and take it out as soon as the test is done to avoid building too much pressure in the gas tank? It seems like that would make it pass, has anyone done this?

Get some carb cleaner, take the air cleaner off, start the truck and let it get warm, have a buddy hold the accelerator at 1500-2000 rpm, and spray the carb cleaner into the carb opening.Truck will smoke, choke down, fart, spit and backfire, but that should clean carb internals. Then spray the outside of the carb and clean off the gunk. U may notice the secondary opening at this point. If not, ckeck for tightness of all the carb mounting bolts to the intake manifold and be sure no vacuum hoses are leaking.bj

Yay! It passed emissions today. Turns out they tested it improperly last time, the charcoal canister isn't even part of the test. They were supposed to pinch off the line going to the canister so if couldn't affect the pressure test results. Once they pinched off the line it passed with flying colors. Now I have to start working on the electrical mess. The dash lights and front marker lights go on and off with the brake pedal lol, and the blinkers don't work at all.
