I have a MAC tools test light. It has 2 lights on it. 1 that comes on when a circuit is completed and a second if there is power I didnt know this at first would have made this process much faster. Sometimes I am stupid as hell

This is my issue to. Except the battery will die instantly when the truck is off. It happened right after I put in an indash unit. I had to jump it after, but thought that it might have been just from test it out. Drove it down the highway home about 5 miles, turned the truck off and went outside to start it probably 20 minutes later and dead. This is my project for the day, and am going to delete that cig lighter first.

you likely need a new battery. sounds like its not holding a charge at all, and the truck is just running off of the alternator when its running. get both tested... usually one will take out the other with it.

I havent had an issue with the battery before that though, granted I have only had the truck two weeks. I didnt even drive it the week prior at all and it started right up for me.

batries could go bad at anytime, hell my truck wouldnt stay running as i was going into the job i used to have then went out after i got off it started and i got up to the next light and idled and it stayed running and died right after i got outa the light. put a new batree in it and had a remaned alternater put in and it worked after. my dad had to come put another battery in and as soon as i put the new battery in it, it fired right up and made it home and i knew after that the alternator was bad. so it could be a mix of both there mate. could be a bad alternator or it could be a bad battery or both. check both. hope this helps.

Its weird with this truck. It just started to work again, i jumped it and ran it for a bit and then it was back to normal. Is that normal or odd? Didnt repalce anything on it. But now its doing it again. Guess I got lucky for about a month. How can I test to see if its the alt or the batt? Hope its not both.

you can take both to a autozone or o reillys they can test both at either store.
