Ok I have a 93 b2200, my trucks all the sudden started losing power on the interstate, I've replaced plugs, wires, distributer cap, button, and today I replaced the ignition coil trying to figure out this prob....timing belt a week ago....I have to hop out the truck and adjust the distributer back and forth 2 get home on the interstate...is it possible for the distributer to go bad or any suggestions on why its losing power. it runs good sometimes then runs really rough like its gonna shake out the hood...almost like timings bouncing...please help!

Sounds like you could have the control module inside the distributor going bad......or your not getting enough fuel to the carb......it is carbed, right?
Fuel could be getting restricted by a clogged fuel filter or fuel sock on the end of the sending unit......but if your messing with the distributor and it all of a sudden improves, then I would think it is in the distributor, myself.

It is carb, and I've put several fuel filters on..haven't messed with the fuel sock and I'm not quite sure where the control module is or does...I'm willing to try whatever but a 250 distributer would love to be avoided...my Buddys got the same truck I'm thinkin abt putting his distributer on ny truck and see if it still does it...I just made sure all cylinders were firing..

Check out your local junkyards for a used distributor, the "You Pull" JY's will be cheaper so start with those first....should be less than $20.00 or so, and maybe take yours with you or have some pics of yours on your cell phone so you can compare. A spare dist. is a good thing to have when you are having problems such as this.

Ya I def need a spare distributer right abt now....this is my 4th Mazda and I've never encounterd such problems...I know I have carb issues and exhaust leak and I also need a radiator....its smoking more then it ever has now and I'm afraid if I put money in a weber, header, distributer, and radiator that the motor won't ...I gave 550 for the truck and have been putting money in it since I got it.

Installing a spare distributor temporarily is a great idea, how my distributor issues were diagnosed like 6 years ago. If not ignition-related, clogged fuel filter/tank filter sock is likely, especially in more-humid parts of the country.

Strange that you can "adjust" it back to running ok.
For my two cents it sounds like fuel. (electrical things die a swift death in my experience )
Might be crud in your tank and the time it takes the "adjust" the dizzy is the time it takes for the fuel to flow backwards and spit out the crud again?
Auto (e-pump) or manual(m-pump)?

But it seems electrical to me that it starts doing it when it warms up and going down the interstate @ 70 mph @ a steady pace....that's when I'm encountering this problem....where is the fuel sock?

Could it be a problem with the vacuum advance mechanism? Possibly sticking?

Could my distributer not bein placed in right....how do I set exactly like its suppose to be...remove spark plug 1 and get it top dead center right...how do I know which way the button is supposed to be pointed?
