reinstalled tranny... NO FKN REVERSE!

ok tore it all down and ran into a bearing that seems to be pressed on... so im gonna get a puller or make one tommmorow. the revers and 5th rod is deff stuck way down in the tranny. the other two work just fine. gonna chalk this up to probably needing a new tranny but im still gonna take it all apart to see wtf caused this. anyone have anything good to say about the automatic transmissions,,, its very tempting to convert now that im at this point.

where do you live? I'm having transmission issues myself if you do replace yours i might be interested in your old one probably be easier to fix than mine lol only gear i had was 4th.

Ok got it all out of the housing . Srill cant get the reverse and 5th rod to slide. I think im gonna drop it off at the tranny shop and see wtf is holding it there. Everything looks in good condition.

There should be a shift interlock to keep from going into two gears at once that could be broken/stuck.

this is where it stands.. got it out of reverse but now it wont slide into any gears.

Be sure to use thread sealant on the flywheel bolts, I replaced the seal twice thinking that was the source of the leak when it was oil coming past the bolts, just an fyi if you didn't already know..

I had no idea about that ! But yea heres the deal....took it to the tranny shop. Dude couldnt get it unlocked or get it to shift. Says its a lost cause and would cost 600 bucks to fix it. Im like hey fuck that and I leave. Took it to my garage and fiddle fuck with it thinking well what the hell. I got it out of reverse and shifting in 20 mins flat. Lmao. So it seems anyways. Everything is moving smoothly and looks good. Im gonna replace the front and back seals and put it back together and see what happens. Let yall know this weekend

Ok.put the tranny back together and it shifts thru all gears. When I shift it into the gear it "clicks" or "pops" in...all except 3rd and 4th.they slide in so smooth and easy its weird. Is this because ive greased them up really well and have moved them more than the rest while it was apart... or is this gonna be an issue. The gears have never shifted really smooth like a new car but now those two slide super easy.so fearing that something was up I tore it apart again and shifted it without the bellhousing.same thing happening. Everything is engaging and working but those two gears are just sliding easier than the others...any ideas.
