I would guess yes. A bock tester will tell you for sure.

You probably need out to bleed the air out of the cooling system.

Turn the heater on full blast and run the truck until the heater core is blowing hot air into the cab. Do this with the cap off.

It sounds like you have a big air bubble in the water jacket, that is unless your head gasket is not working anymore. Why did you decide to put a new thermostat in the truck. Did the truck overheat before this problem showed up?

No it didnt overheat. I jus replaced it thinking it was stuck open or closed. When i puked it out the first time the engine didnt get hot or anything. I drove about 5 miles then stopped n noticed anti freeze everywhere. I just got the truck few weeks ago from my dad. Havent had any problems with it until now.

Plugs are wet with coolant or oil or gas?

The thermostat should have an air bleed on it that is located at the 12 o clock position if it's vertical. I don't remember if these trucks have a vertical or horizontal mounting for the t_stat.

It sounds like you might have to get a pressure tester and check the water jacket for leaks. Auto part stores sometimes have a presure tester under some kind of loan-a-tool program.

I couldnt really tell. Theres no water in the oil. The oil is normal amd clean.

My thermostat is mounted on the side. Does the t stat have to be turned a certain way? Ill try and run it awhile with rad. cap off and see what happens.

Update: I ran truck with radiator cap off for about 45 minutes. The fluid would burp n spill out from time to time. I had heat on high. The truck finally got to normal operating temp and i think the t stat finally opened. It sucked the radiator down. It had white smoke coming out the rad. I hurried and added more anti freeze but i ran out. I will be getting more anti freeze today and trying it again.

The thermostat should have a rivet or small hole in it that goes to the 12:00 high position. That allows for air to escape and it helps the thermostat open faster. But it sounds like you are on the right track.
