no not that one. the other one. the one that connects to the intake
that hose was fine when i checked it out

but what is that valve?

ok never mind. the problem still exists. i thought replacing the hose on the passenger side would solve it but guess not.

ill add that it only happens if its cold outside and ive been driving for a while. then it starts to drop idle.

cusser, what is that valve you speak of?

and pumping the brakes seems to affect to idle drop as well. like i will sit parked and pump the brakes a few times and itll drop more.

There's a one-way valve in the short rubber vacuum line that leads into the power brake booster. If you look carefully there's an arrow on and says ENGINE so you put it back on the correct direction. If you step on the brake and it affects idle, maybe you have a vacuum line issue, maybe I'd check that valve (should be able to blow through it in one direction but not the other). After that, wash your mouth out with soap, such as Dial soap, my by my employer Henkel.

thanks for the info!
also, if that hose or valve were to prove bad, do you know what exactly it is called? i looked at local auto parts stores' online catalog and couldnt find these certain two hoses.

See dealer parts page

Looks like Mazda #UB3943640A for like $25.50 new. I've got some used ones but with shipping wouldn't be much cheaper than that.

thanks a lot for your help cusser! will go through these instructions asap and ill get back if the problem still exists! but thanks a lot man!

ok so i havent gotten the part yet that cusser has suggested to me, however i did a bit of testing or whatever you would call what i did. haha

anyways, what i did was run it and disconnect one hose at a time and plugged it with my finger. first was the one next to the booster itself. when i disconnected it, it had a hard time staying on, then when i plugged it with my finger, the idle was still the same as before i disconnected it.

next was the one closest to the engine, i disconnected the part that connects to the metal brake line and it was pretty much about to die. then i plugged it and revved it a lil and it sounded like it ran fine, but when i went to reconnect it, it died. idk if that is also a problem or if that is normal

i also took the smaller hose off and tried blowing through both ends but neither allowed air through the other side.
