I think your head is going to be trashed. But even if that cam could be polished and the rest of lobes and journals were good, I don't think I would want to install that in another good head.

Thanks for the reply guys, i have kind of a stupid question.. what are the journals? i have pictures of the cam when before i took it out, if that helps? i can take more pictures tonight.

The journals are the places where the cam itself is bolted down to the head. What I am referring to is where the head supports the cam while it rotates.

Based on what your pictures show, I'd guess you're in it for a head, lifters, cam sprocket, and a cam at a minimum. I can't even see where the oil feed holes are on the journals due to aluminum shavings that have filled the grooves.

If you crank the engine you can see where the oil should come up to oil the cam.

I'd kind of like to see pictures of the other three journals if you can get them.

You can also flip the rocker assembly over and take a picture or two to maybe show some other evidence of the cam chatter that occurred during the top end being starved of oil.

So my buddy was able to remove the camshaft bolt!

Does anyone know the dememsions of the camshaft bolt, washer and pin? I don't feel like ordering from the dealer and would like to maybe get her done tonight.
