So you removed the Cruise Control portion and reconnected the speedo cable directly to the transmission and it worked?

If so you'll need to find out the manufacturer of the cruise and see if parts are available.

No, I took it off the piece in the picture at the connecter and hand spun it and it worked. I didn't know if the piece in the pictures was oem or an aftermarket part of the cruise. I'm guessing by your response, that is not oem and you have never seen it.

I have not seen one like that, Scotch may have.

See if you can reconnect the OE cable directly to the transmission and see if your speedo works again.

It looks like the part with the wires picks up the signal for the cruise - has a set of magnets in it.

Haven't seen that myself either. Did have one truck w/aftermarket cruise that had the pickup on the coil lead AND the magnet on the driveshaft. Not sure why they used both. Maybe one quit working.

Yes, I would just take it off and connect the cable normally until you can find a replacement piece, or set up a new pick-up as mentioned above. See if you can determine who makes the kit (roestra, audivox, etc.) and see if they have a replacement part or if they can offer you some guidance using the coil or driveshaft pick-up.

I looked at the controller and the only markings it had said speed control electric servo and a part number. Thanks for all the help, I am probably going to take it out until I can figure out another way to pick up the speed for it.

Google the p/n and you might find out who makes it.
