I have been searching since I posted that. No avail. When I got mine I went to the local engine repair place and they found one for me. I have seen them on ebay. But dont see any right now.

Haha alright. Atleast I got time to find one! I'll have to keep my eyes and ears open, and money ready! (When I get some haha). Thanks for the input!

I wouldn't worry about RPM with this engine and a blower.
You'll just stress things, the blower will do that just fine, lol.
If you wanted rpm etc etc I'd say throw a different engine in all together!

Ditch everything old + new stand alone = weeeeeeee!!!!
Would be good if you can get a signal from a cam though for sequential inj/ign.

I have to wait a YEAR before I see this supercharger!?!?
I'll beat you with my jandals till I'm blue in the face and you're black in the face.
(If you're a black dude then that'd save me a lot of time/effort and flight fares.)
If you don't know what a jandal is then all the better, the unknown is terrifying!

Do you call black dudes, black dudes?

After talking some more of it out with my friend, I decided not to do cams. Like you said, it just ruins the characteristics of the motor and this will be my DD so why do I want high RPM power anyway? Just figured it'd give it a little more power, but more stress will come along so I'd rather not. I may have this beast up and running before that, but it won't be on much boost if it is. I'll have to save up for a new head, and it'll take me a while to tweak out the megasquirt when I do get one.

I thought about just doing batch fire? What's so harmful in doing that? I figure it should work alright, or atleast good enough for my purposes! One reason I don't want to swap is no one seems to do anything with these motors. I don't see why, you fix the head problem and if you really wanted to go forged inside and while you're out a pretty penny it'll be a very stout thing, and original!

I'm a white guy, so it's gonna take you a while to knock some color into this skin haha. I live in West Virginia, USA. I myself, usually say black guy or african american. *Most* (Not all) people I know have a different name for them, and you probably know what it is lol. All in how you're raised, not where you're raised I suppose though.

PS - I don't know what a jandal is so I'm gonna guess it'll hurt, and it'll be terrifying.

**EDIT** Also I was looking at stock B2600i injectors and while the tops seem normal, the bottom tips seem very long? Do they *have* to be that long, or is it just the way they're made? Theres a pick n pull an hour away from my friend (2 hours for me) that we may be able to go up to but finding RX7 injectors or something will be near impossible. Any other models anyone can think of? I'd hate to start buying new injectors and end up just wasting money.

Thanks!

I'm new to the supercharger or turbo world but I have 2 quick questions???

1) When you do a supercharger or turbo, do you run into issues with the brake booster not operating correctly because it needs vacuum to operate?

2) Since a supercharger essentially should produce the same amount or boost or pressure on the intake manifold (if sized correctly) would you really need to run a new computer? Couldn't you just run larger injectors or more fuel pressure and operate o.k. Or would the computer see the positive pressure on the map sensor and freak out. And if you do run a new computer does the mas sensor still get used? Thanks

I'm not a total expert, but I think I know the answers to those quesitons:

1. The brake booster should operate fine under positive pressure, but I'm not totally sure. I'd imagine so, or someone would have pointed this out a while ago.

2. With the linear power of the supercharger, and a 2-bar MAP sensor I could probably get away with running a max of 5 PSI of boost. I know a guy that ran an 8 PSI turbo in a Civic by upping injectors, and tuning using regulators. That is NOT the way to do it, and learning how easy Megasquirt really is, I see no reason at all not to go standalone honestly. I think using that sensor all depends on what ECU you run. Megasquirt seems to use a MAP sensor.

Thanks!

not sure if this has been said or not but my buddy put a turbo on his civic

he got new fuel rails new injectors , new fuel pump chipped and tuned his computer wideband 02 sensor and maybe theres some stuff im missing but im sure this has all been mentioned , oviously a bigger exhaust would be ideal too

I'm going to be keeping stock exhaust manifold, getting rid of the catalytic converter and going 2.5" from manifold-back. I already have a 2.5" race bullet muffler on the truck which I will reuse.

I'm going to do microsquirt standalone, wideband o2 sensor, 255 fuel pump, and I'm still unsure about injectors. I'd like to have bigger than 440cc, even though those are probably fine. I still don't know what injectors swap out with this motor. Like I said, the bottom tips on the stock ones are very long, why is this??

Thanks!

WRONG!
There is a check valve built into the vacuum hose going to the booster. Make sure you use it!
The booster will hold enough vacuum for one or two pedal presses... maaaaybe three, if manifold vacuum isn't available.
If you lose your vacuum reserves, you're gonna have to stand on the pedal and pray you can stop!

See, that's the kind of info I'm looking for. We never really even thought about it because honestly, you're never on the brakes at WOT or while accelerating. And when you get off the gas the motor should return back to vacuum allowing the brakes to work. I'll make sure to check into that check valve and such though!

Thanks!
