any ideas? when i crank it up it idles fine for a little bit then gets rough and starts smoking and diesels then eventually dies. i have adjusted the float, the air intake, and the mixture and still nothing. i gave it a complete tune-up as well. i guess just pull the carb apart and clean it and rebuild it???

I would bouble check the needle and seat sounds like it is not closing. Pull the fuel inlet hose and use a little air to blow it out...with the float out.

sounds like you have a small piece of trash in there, blow it out, and also the needle too, change the filter, then reset the mixture screws to base & adjust from there.....also the plastic floats will get saturated after several years of use since the plastic is porous, only option is to replace it, and i know the older webers came with brass floats that weren't nearly suseptable to this problem, might call redline or racetep & see if the brass floats will fit the newer carbs & replace the plastic one with a brass one.....

when you buy a new weber can you seal the float from being pourous?
Clearcoat or something?

well it turns out that i bought my carb from redline about 3 yrs ago and they have now discontinued the model i bought. it is not a 32/36 dgev. it is a 32/36 rgm and they don't sell them or make parts for them anymore. i am pissed. i paid 400 bucks for that beast and now i need a kit and can't get it. the kit i got for the 32/36 dgev will not work, it is totally different. the only problem that mine has is the needle tit needs to be replaced. i think i may be able to use the tit off the needle out of the dgev kit but won't know until tonight. i am not buying another carb so i may be selling it off for parts or something in the near future. i will let you guys know later.
