okay so i got an electric fan out of a chrysler minivan that is the same size as my clutch fan. it was a four wire setup with one water temp and a sensor for the a/c. i figured i would just use the water temp sensor because i rarely use my a/c. question is is how do i go about wiring it up and everything. i want it to come on when it needs to and go off when it needs too. i hate wiring so any diagrams or anything would be great.

thanks in advance

you can get a electric fan contoller at an auto parts place, im not sure exactly how it works, i think it comes with a sensor to turn the fan on or off, not sure though, thats prolly what ima do when i get one though

I use an acura electric fan. Works great. I wired it to a relay. I bought the fan conroller but you need to insert the probe in the upper rad hose. This just made it leak. So screw that! I just leave it on all the time.

i saw in summit they had a universal 10" electric and it came with a sensor that goes in the water temp sensor hole and runs the fan off that depending on coolant temp

so i need to get one of the temp probes and use the 40 amp relay? like a wire from the probe to the relay and a wire from the relay to 12 volt and the fan? and then a ground from the fan? like i said i hate wiring and dont really understand it that well.

Wow...... that probe... ur supposed to slide it in between the fins on ur radiator near the upper hose.... not stab it into the hose... having it actually touch coolant will mess up the sensor after a while. Read the directions next time.....

And the cheapest one i found at work was like 25 bucks

constant power to the 30 prong, the probe to the 86 prong, ground the 85 prong, and the fan power wire to the 87 prong.... ground the fan, n u pretty much sould be ready to role, oh and i believe theres 2 wires on the probe?? so one would have power when u turn the ignition on, the other would go to the 86 prong like previously stated. Understand?
