Well I am new to the mazda scene and just bought a 87 b2200 ext cab. it has a brand new weber on it but i am having problems getting it running right.. I went through and did the timing check off of mazdatruckin and it is right but motor still runs like shit. the dizzy has to be completly advanced for it the run and it will idle good but it has no power reving up almost like its just bogging out. Is there more than one way to put on the crank pulley, I am worried the guy i bought it from has messed up the timing but also wonder if it is the carb . Thanks in advance please help

does it have a fuel pressure regulator on it if not you need one cause the stock fuel pump will pump tooo much fuel into the carb

yes it has a reg set at 3psi along with new filter

It also wants to die out when you blip the throttle quick but if you rev it slow it will rev up this is all while parked

are yo a tooth off on the timing??

I will retime it to make sure but i believe it was on after I did it the first time.

Yikes, lol...

Make sure when you do the timing that you DO NOT pull the ADVANCE off. The dist. need to be hooked up with advance on the mazda truck. 6BTDC is what it should be set at.

Report back, and if your still in a predicament, we will still help upon your results.

I have checked and rechecked the timing marks and they are right took it down the road and it just has nothing when you put a load on the engine it backfires and spits when you do. What in the carb could cause this?

SO, you are saying that your crank and cam are timed right and the marks are where they need to be? As well, the dist. also shows that it is timed right at 6BTDC?

As far as I can think of, only timing is going to create what your having. BUT dont hold me to my word, let me verify it.

Get me some pics of the carb, and while your at it, spray that sucker down with carb cleaner. Make sure you have no vacuum leaks.

Also, just out of curiousity, is your choke working right?
