sounds like a vacuum leak to me

robolazer, did you ever fiz this?

From the last post, it sounds like you need to get a smaller idle jet. Might even need to go down 2 sizes.

Do yourself a favor, by the choke on the pass. side of the carb. Towards the front by the fuel inlet, there is a screw under the air filater housing base. Unscrew it and there is a jet there. Pull it out of the screw housing and take a look and tell me what size it says it is. Ideally, I have a good time with a 55 jet.

ill have to agree with toddluck to check for vaccum leaks. i have a weber on mine and had this problem awhile back. i never thought it was an air leak since you couldnt hear one, it was spitting and backfiring like the timing was off. anyways after enough messing with other things and test driving the vaccum leak got bad enough to hear. it was leaking from one of the adapter plats for the weber, the bottom one, the bolts had started to loosen up. fix that made some adj on the carb, it has never ran smoother. now if i can just get my clutch issue fixed.

I must have been mistaken? I thought he said he did'nt have a vacuum leak...

Spray the area with carb cleaner and check for a change in idle.

Also, try and see if you can wobble the carb. If it has any play you need to retighten the bolts on the adaptor plates and carb. ALSO use LOCTITE!

If you can hear a whistle from the carb area during driving then you most definitely have a vacuum leak between the adaptor plates.

Pull ur plugs and see what color the electrodes are.If they are black and sooty, truck is running too rich and u need to lean the Weber out a bit.If they are tan/white looking truck is too lean and u may need to richen it up a bit.Try regaping the plugs to .035,set the time up to 5% BTDC and see what happens.BJ

well I have check for vacum leaks with the spray method numerous times and no luck.
the plugs are black and sooty I have not got the chance tp check what jets are in it yet but will tomorrow

Yea... take a wire brush and clean the spark plugs off.

Get the truck warmed up and then screw in the mix screw until it seats LIGHTLY and then back it out until it rights smooth.

Let me know how many turns out you are. You should be NO more than 1 3/4 turns out. I believe for every full turn out after that it is a jet size different.

Say its 2 3/4 out then you need a jet 1 size smaller. Say you have a 55 idle jet, then it needs to go to a 50.

My Weber 32/36 DGEV idle jets are 52 and 45, '88 B2200. Oh, yes: it runs fine.

check for vacume leaks around the base plate and is your choke adjusted right?
