What are the differences in a 2.0 and 2.2 head gasket. I just put an engine in my truck. the old owner isnt sure if its a 2.0 or 2.2. I bought it as just a head and black assembled. The head gasket is bad. All the parts store call for different gaskets. I know they heads interchange, but what makes the gasket different but keeps the head interchangable. Let me know. I havent tore the head off yet, and the truck is an hour away. I need to get the gasket before I go work on my truck.

Would you be able to use the 2.2 gasket on a 2.0 block since it has a restrictor? Wouldnt it leave the void in the gasket unaffected?

I read somewhere that it was the heads that determined the gasket, but you are saying its the block. I have a 2.0 gasket, I will pick up the 2.2 gasket on my way to the truck this weekend. I appreciate the help. Just wanted to make sure I do this right. I'm already upset I pulled an engine with a bad gasket and installed another iwith a bad gasket.
