when i slowly press the gas the truck will run fine but when i stab it it will cut out and if i hold it there the rpms will drop until i let of the gas again ,and if i hold it to long it will die , what could be causing this ? i have a weber conv.

check the linkage on the carb as well. When u step down hard on the gas the secondary should open up.If the linkage is loose or the advance spring is broken shesa no work and the truck will stumble.BJ

maybe clogged or very dirty fuel lines not allowing enough gas to get to the carb.... disconnect the fuel line going to carb and then turn key on to see if fuel pumps out alot or a little......then if it is pumping good flow then check the carb linkages.

it seems to be a problem with the secondarys ,it does not seem to open fast enough. is there a adjustment on there to fix it? or is a rebuild needed ?
