If your float bowl is'nt overflowing with gasoline, there is no reason for a FPR.
Although, go ahead and give it a try.
I too have the same problem with my Weber. I can only come to the conclusion that it is just way too much fuel at once for these small engines to take in and hence why it does what it does cause you basically are flooding it out.
Now, with that said, when my engine is running hot, I can do it no problem and it takes a second before it puts you in the back of your seat. Although, you should also try and see if you can revv it up to like 1500 rpm and then crack her all the way open. By then, you should'nt have a problem with her wanting to die on you.
