Mazda 2.0 engine

A Bongo Friendee is a litle minivan type vehicle that Maz built for overseas distribution only.They had the 2000 cc mota,but were beefed up internally for commercial vehicle use.Some of them got 8.5:1 domed pistons,heavier rods and a few of them got a 12 valve head with a front mounted dist.These few were called "Magnum" engines, 120 hp stock!I have a factory Magnum cover,I found another one and redid it for NYTRDs truck,and Russ d has one on the engine in the pic above.I dont think any of the Bongo motors made it to the US of A legally,but some may have made it to Canada via Australia.They would all be JDM motas.Thats all I know and if anyone knows anything else,please fill us in..BJ

Would one bolt up to a 2.2 Auto Tranny?

I am sure they would since 2000s,2200s bolt up and the bongo is just a beefier 2000.The auto tranny in our trucks also is used in early RX7s so if it can handle that it can handle a 2000.lol.bj

so.. will the 2.2 header fit this??? Anythign else i need to look into?

header will fit as well.
