gas tank question PLZ HLP!!!

damn b2600is..... mine won't fire cuz i swapped transmissions.... won't spark at all for almost 3 weeks now... stumpin everyone i know. Not to jack your thread... I'm glad i'm readin this though so i don't do it.


So you have to get a regular cab FI tank??? Is that all???

maybe, i thought there was only 3 options for tanks: long box, x-cab, and reg cab short box....??????

the fi tanks have a larger baffle at the fuel pump pickup ponit so the pump and injectors dont starve and burn up.if u have 6-7 gallons in it that should be ok.i would check the pressure.u can get a cheapo pressure guage (inline) most anywhere and see what the pump is putting out.bj

well another way to check fuel pressure is click the ingnition to run, listen to make sure fuel pump runs for 3 seconds then remove the line off the fuel filter to see if fuel squirts out if it does then you are getting fuel pressure. you can also un bolt the fuel rail, (i'm sure you don't want to have to remove the plenum but...) and wire the injectors into the rail like they show in the haynes manual. then hook up the plugs and turn the engine over to see if they are squirting also have you checked your spark to make sure your getting it?

And no one ever said, if you put a FI single cab tank on a b2600i, would that cause this problem too????


How do so many people do this swap if its such a problem??

okay guys cid and I did his truck and all you have to do is switch over the sending unit. cid's was a fi 2.2 and after we switched them over it worked fine and it will be the same way with yours.

Hmm.... so jus get a tank and sending unit from which ever truck i get it from and use that instead of my b2600i sending unit??

Or put my b2600i sendin unit in the reg cab tank?? I'm confused

i had the to motor, and back to the tank lines mixed up, it runs great now

and what did you get the tank from?? and are you using the b2600i fuel pump??
