gas tank question PLZ HLP!!!

hey guys i switched tanks from an x-cab to a reg cab and the lines look diffrent and i cant get it to run at all..... what have you guys done if you switched to the smaller tank? <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_question.gif" alt=":?:" title="Question" /><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

I have never done it, but sounds like you might have the lines mixed up!

There should be three: feed, return, vent/charcoal canister

^That's how it is on mine...

I would assume if it was FI it would be close to the same!

They all have 3 lines.When I put mine back together I had the feed and returns backwards.I at least remembered to test the lines but turning out my fuel pump and have a catch bottle on the feed line.Can't really mess up the fuel lines when theres only 3.

guys, i had the gas lines going to the correct spots because i have gas at the injectors, however, i still cannot pinpoint the reason it will not fire, i have been racking my brain all day and cant come up with anything..... any sugestions?

was it running befor you switched tanks?

yes, i switched tanks to a reg cab tank to fit it between the frame rails

did you switch from fi to fi? or fi to carbed?

how much gas u got in the tank?The Maz tanks have baffles in them to keep fuel from sloshing around and to keep a supply of fuel at the fuel pump pickup point.if the baffles are not in the same place,the fuel pump wont pick up as it should.u said u have gas at the FI rails but is it at the correct pressure?should be at 13-15 psi for the injectors to function as they should.I swapped tanks on a 2600i once,tried to put a 91 tank in a 90 truck and the damn thing wouldnt run because the baffles were differnt and it was fuel starved.bj

Bj, thanks for the info, i will need to check the fuel pressure some how. i have about 6 or 7 gallons in the tank so.....????
