I hate to dig up old posts... But my dad & I are contemplating this... As I have a dead B2600i 4x4 & an almost dead but rebuilt MPV..

It all comes down to what my dad wants to do, as it is his truck & my van..

It is extremely hard to find but i found a JE Bell Housing for the Mazda R Box for my JE48 Miata Swap (1989 929s is the only year that had it) :

Supposedly you can still get it from here new with this part # JF0116210D " target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank
Its actually a bell housing for a JF Engine but still uses the same bell housing on an R Box. Using this in your B2600 Series truck, your shifter will no longer be straight, as there is no 15 Degree tilt in the transmission bell housing as the G6 Bell has. As seen here :

Another note : Your trans mount will also be affected, it will now have a 15 degree tilt instead of being straight.

Slamsonthedawmaster currently has a b2600i with the 3.0 je v6 out of a 929 mounted to an fc3s turbo ii Trans. Still the same motor as the mpv, and i know the turbo ii Trans is the same input shaft size/spline count as the 2600i trans, and same sized output... The swap from what I've heard is just about a direct bolt in. Once i have the money for a motor/wiring and ecu I'll be doing the swap in my own truck

True to a degree. Not all Turbo II R Boxes are the same. Depending on the year of the Rx7, input shaft length is a factor. All though they have the same spline count and shaft size of the G6 R box, some have shorter input shafts and have longer shafts. Turbo II R Boxes also have a different tail housing in many ways other than length + different ratio's than the G6 R box and 929/MPV. Only reason i could see for using a Turbo II box for the B2600 JE Swap is for transmission mounting do to the different tail housing for Ease of operation i would guess.. Its not like the Turbo II is any stronger of a "R" Box because it's not. Props for Slamsonthedawmaster for getting done. Hope you do the same.

He didn't do the swap himself, he purchased the truck with it already done from a Mazda master mechanic. You'd have to ask him more about it if you were curious. Chris st. Amand on Facebook.
