I want to put an electric fan on my truck. Basically, I want to know if anyone on here has removed the bracket ,pulley, and factory fan? What type of electric fan will work best? A fan that pulls or a fan the pushes? Also, What size belt is best? Any pictures??? Thanks in advance

ummmm. . . . . unless 2.6l are THAT much different, the fan is bolted TO the water pump pulley, so you jus take the fan and fan clutch assembly off and keep the same belt. . . . I have a 14" fan and it fits perfect, 16" would be too big. . . And "push" and "pull" fans are the same fan, if I'm not mistaken, it all in how you hook the wires up. . . Its def a great upgrade to the truck. It cools better, takes the load of the fan off the motor, etc. . So def do it

Oh, and put the fan on the engine side of the radiator and wire it so it pulls. . .

I just got mine finished, I got a 16 electric fan out of a friends camaro, went to O'rielly's and got a electric fan thermostat. Wired it in the way the diagram show, and works great. Fan kicks on at about 190 and off just under 180. The thermostat was around $30 I think. I'll try to get some pics up later today. Oh and if you don't go with a thermostat, which just about everyone I talked to highly recommened it, you want to wire it in using a relay. Like I said I'll post some pics later after I get some sleep.

If you look closely I removed the pully, the whole reason for the electric fan is for less pull on the engine so I wanted to eliminate that from the belt loop all together.

At the same time I installed the GM one wire alternator and wow what a diff. I can actually come to a stop with the defroster on, head lights and stereo and it won't try to die on me.

And I made the brackets for the alertnator so I didn't have to do any cutting and griding on the casing it self. Let me know if you need any more pics or advice. Hope it helps

Thank you for the pics. That is what I'm looking to do. I have a question about the bracket that you have on the first pic. Did you just remove the pulley? or did you remove the bracket in the pic later? I want to do this to my mazda and just wanted to get some opinions. thanks again
