On my 1990 b2600i we have changed the plugs, plug wires and it is still missing. We put some new gas in it, and it is now actually idling but is missing pretty bad. The Fuel Filter is new and it is still doing it so I can only think of the Injectors, Anyone have any ideas???

determine which cylinder is missing, then swap injectors from one port to another and see if it still misses on the same cylinder (not sure how to determine which cylinder is missing). You should also check the distributor and the rotor inside. any dirt or carbon in the distributor can cause it to short and lead to a misfire. The only other thing i can think of is compression, and it doesn't make sense for only one cylinder to have low compression unless the head gasket broke and leaks outside the engine. best of luck.

sounds to me like a fuel pressure regulator

forgive me, i thought you meant one cylinder was missing. if they all are missing, Todd might be right. If you have a fuel pressure gauge, check the pressure and see if it's in the correct range. it may also be a weak coil, or the distributor. best of luck.

I think it is only one, but Im am away from it again, and wont be able to check it until next thursday. My brother and dad are the ones working on it while Im at school. Maybe they will know tommorow

id bet money on the ECM...Its hard to kill a fuel injector.

regarding what i mentioned before about which cylinder is missing:
you need to disconnect each spark plug wire while the truck is running. listen to the engine and note if it misses more or sounds different when you disconnect the wire. If you pull a wire and the engine gets rougher or dies, that means that isn't the problem cylinder. pulling the wire on the problematic cylinder should have little effect on how the engine is running sice it's missing some of the time.

Really on the ecm? Is there any way i can test it, I dont know alot about the obd 1 stuff

Yea thats the way I would check the the cylinders. My dad says it will rev up but wont idle so im not sure if I can actually do this

You cant really test the ecm, but you can pull the cover off and look for leaking resistors, or spots on the circuit board that look messed up. Those resistors are notorious for leaking and eating away the circuit board and making the truck run weird. If thats the problem avpro can repair them for pretty cheap.

I have access to a b2600 but it is 4x4 Im guessing the ecm is different on them?
