My truck has been burning coolant like CRAZY i kinda got out of the scene because i got fed up with it. now i have to have a second vehicle so the maz is the next best thing. anyways heres whats going on. When i started the truck it would smoke like CRAZY we already replaced the thermostat, water pump, and radiator due to it overheating last year. now after replacing all those lovely items it still burnt coolant. yesterday i dissassembled the engine and pulled the cylinder head to check for a blown head gasket. well guess what it does not look very blown to me or my father and now we checked the head for cracks. anyways it all seems like im chasing nothing and getting nowhere. If anyone can help PLEASE help me

also does anyone know if the Cylinder heads are interchangeable on the 1987 mazda b2000's and 1992 mazda b2200 i know that the head gaskets are but idk about the cylinder heads themselfs please help me as soon as possible. i appreciate it guys. Gavin

if your already to the HG.......might as well just replace it. are you seeing any fluid leaking in the cylinder?

I had a hose crack and pinhole under my manifold and finding it was driving me crazy. Since finding that i have had no problems since....so i am pretty hopeful that its all fixed now. I would suggest replacing ALL the hoses...not just the rad hoses....did wonders for since mine was peeing out onto a VERY hot block...so hot in fact that it vaporized before it hit the ground....took me a bit of time to find the culprit....but since I have replaced all the hoses...no problems since.

Hope that helps

i have my head getting checked out right now for the same problems. seen fluid around the HG but when i pulled it off everything looked fine. all the hoses are good.

Okay bought a 1986 b2000 the other day with basically the same issues i pulled the head and put on a new gasket and guess what... STILL too much pressure in the system and it sprays it out into the overflow tank ANYONE please help me before i just give up and send them both to the scrap yard

clogged radiator. Or heater core. Its one of the 2. I had both. Bypassed the core for now since its always hot here...no much need for heat really for me....replaced rad and all hoses and I been running fine and cool...in 100+ temps already and since I was using mine to deliver for a bit...you know I was running hard.

bypass your core first...$20 worth of copper and a chunk of heater hose...done. If not that...get a rad from a parts shop...drain and flush flush flush system....put new stuff. Also, you will have to allow the system to flush the air out of the system which is your immediate problem...I had to bleed mine 10 times before all the air was out of it.....basically I ran it, no fan (Im electric, manual controlled) and allowed it to bubble it all out thru the rad...worked pretty good I must say

thermostat? it might not be opening and circulating fluid?

i know on my truck the overflow tank is a reservoir and it should be half full all the time but my truck burns coolant through the cylinders and i need to change my head gasket before i crack my head.

i planned on bypassin it tomorrow im just getting frustrated that both these trucks have basically the exact same problem.

ya...get it bypassed (mine was SEVERELY clogged up) and think of it this way........its a cheap ass truck to fix...and you are already fixing things on it...and if you buy another thing...how many problems will it have? And its coolant....has to be going somewhere....just gotta figure out where its going
